ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) in collision route

This article was published by a magazine called Lan Times in February of 1995. At the time several technologies were competing to be the next standard in high speed data transmission, and ATM required an overhaul of the entire infrastructure to be in place. We all know by now that ATM did not take off as were expected and new standards have replaced it. Back in 1995 this was very difficult to predict and the objective of the article was to give the reader an overview of the pros and cons that deploying ATM could cause on their networks. I was the Marketing Manager for the BBRS Group at the time.
